Mr Al Sahhaf has worked in the Badir Program for Technology Incubators of King Abdulaziz City for Science Technology, for the past four years. In 2013, he became the BADIR CEO and restructured the organization to strategically position it to become an internationally recognized world class incubation program and play a major role in improving the effectiveness of the Saudi entrepreneurial and innovation eco-systems.

In 2012 as BADIR’s Commercialization and Funding Director, he led Badir’s development and establishment of the SIRB network, an alliance of investors, technology entrepreneurs and innovation supporters in Saudi Arabia.

Prior to joining BADIR, Mr Al Sahhaf was a senior consultant for seven years with the Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF) assisting companies in researching and implementing business opportunities in the construction, manufacturing and petrochemicals industrial sectors in local, regional and international markets.

Al Sahhaf has degrees in International Marketing from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland and in Marketing from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, Saudi Arabia

Has a Bachelor degree in chemical engineering from KFUPM in Dhahran, Master Degree in chemical engineering from KSU in Riyadh and MBA degree from Thunderbird School of Management in Arizona, USA.

He has over 20 years of experience in different fields related to petrochemical industry. He contributes in more than 35 patents during his earlier years of experience in developing different Technology for SABIC.

Assign to different roles within SABIC in fields of Operation, Research & Technology and Business. Serving as board member at SADAF Company, High Institute for Elastomer, High Institute for Plastic, Saudi Industrial Investment Company (DUSSUR) and Center of Research Excellence in Environmental Studies.

He was General Manager of SABIC Global Chemical Technologies under SABIC Business Strategic Unit before he appointed this year as General Manager of Local Content Development Unit to lead SABIC activities to develop and maximize SABIC KSA Local content and work with KSA Government and authorities toward realizing KSA 2030 Vision.

Dr. Christian Günther is Executive Vice President SBU Titanium at Tasnee. Since assuming this role in October 2016, he has been leading Cristal, Tasnee’s global titanium dioxide and titanium chemicals business, one of the top three titanium dioxide producers globally. He is also Acting EVP of Tasnee’s SBU Downstream, in charge of plastics and metals conversion, car battery manufacturing and recycling, and technical services.

Prior to his present post, Dr. Günther was Executive Vice President Strategy and Growth for Tasnee, responsible for strategy, business development, M&A, and a large-scale corporate transformation at Tasnee that significantly improved the company’s profitability.

With revenues of more than USD 4 bn, Tasnee is the largest privately owned chemicals company in Saudi Arabia and has global activities in petrochemicals, pigments, and downstream conversion.

Before joining Tasnee, Dr. Günther was a partner in the Dubai office of McKinsey & Company, where he led McKinsey’s regional chemicals practice. He joined McKinsey in Düsseldorf, Germany, in 2001 and moved to Dubai in 2007.

Dr. Günther is a chemist by education and received a Ph.D in organic chemistry from the University of Würzburg, Germany, in 2000. After his Ph.D, he spent a year as postdoc at Stanford University, California. He is married with three children.
